I like how this book starts out by explaining what accounting is. Then it goes into explaining who governs the industry and the basic accounting principles. As well as the different titles each person or people have and what that job entails. Then it explains about the different type of business structures and types of small businesses, and helpful hints for any business. Then we get into Basic Accounting, which gives a rundown of The Accounting Equation with charts and “layman’s†terms. Now we get into each section, with detailed information for each terminology. Chapter 2 goes into setting up a business and it gives detailed information from starting to setting up what you’ll need. Chapter 3 goes into the actually running the business. Chapter 4 goes into the selling of your product of service, as well as receiving payments. And Chapter 5 goes into the end of the cycle, insurance, paying suppliers, payroll and etc. for valuing your business and taxes. Throughout this book there are charts to help you understand everything. I would recommend it to anyone looking to start a small business. I did receive this book free to give my honest review.
This book is written very weirdly to me. It seems as if the book is written for people who want to start a small business but then it also seems like it's written for people who already have a small business and may want to learn more. Sometimes the book comes off more technical as if you already have some sort of accounting knowledge. However in some cases it comes off very elementary when explaining the different aspects of accounting. Nonetheless this book is very helpful if you are into a text book style of learning. Meaning that you'll probably have to write some things down and study them before it actually clicks in your head.
While there were a small handful of useful concepts, I found much of this book did not apply to me. Being a sole proprietor in a service-based business without employees, I found many of the topics to not be applicable to my situation.I suspect had I been involved in a more complicated entity or if I had employees or had I been involved in sales, that I would have found it more useful.

This book is a great starting off point for those who don't know what to do with their business finances. I have also learned a thing or two for my direct sales business. This book is broken down into chapters and has topics that are easy to understand. It contains charts, tips and tools to help you out. Not only does it touch on accounting but also helps with payroll, ordering office supplies, keeping business expenses separate from personal, payroll for employees, shipping and receiving and so much more. I found this book very interesting and I think this is the perfect book for someone who are thinking about starting up their very own business.

It will help you understand the terminology of accounting. The book does not touch of the types of accounting software able. You’ll have do your own research for software. I've recently started blogging for a profit so this was just the book for me to read. Numbers are not my thing but this book had each chapter lined up to guide you step by step in how to manage the finances for a small business. I did feel though that this book almost covered too much information in one book and was more of just an overview into the accounting side of a business but didn't dive into the ins and outs. For just a general understanding of accounting for your business I think it's great but if you're wanting more than that then you might want to choose another book. This book was provided by amazon but all opinions are my own.
This is a good Ebook for anyone looking for help with accounting for a small business. I like how it's visual by showing chart examples. The Ebook was very informative, and also a good read.
