As a true 1987-1990 fan of the tv series "BEAUTY and the BEAST" having watch the series numerous times, (still my favorite of all time) this is a great book to have for following the shows, as many times as I've watched the series, I find each show I missed something previously. I've often felt in watching the series, some episodes appear out of order, the book certainly explains this and also how much the networks had control of the series. Also we may have forgotten the timing of this show which was prime time tv, reading everything behind every episode has given me such understanding and insight to this beautiful, never to be lost or forgotten, truly wonderful tv series! Ron Perelman and Linda Hamilton PLEASE come back and show people what tv really is!
A compilation of several books Edward Gross originally released around the time of the series, the best part is his extensive interviews with the writers who discuss the successes and failures of the series and its' individual episodes. On the other hand, the volume is rather thin considering the price. Worth it if you missed any of the authors books on the subject when originally published.
Although the book is a little slow, it has some interesting viewpoints in it from the writers, directors, and actors of the Beauty and the Beast eighties television series. This book chronicles each episode including name, date of airing, writer/writers, stars, and director.Its wonderful to read about this amazing and endearing series some 25 years later.
I have been a fan of this show since its debut in 1987. I would have liked to have seen more in this book. More photos of the cast members and scenes from the show. Colored ones would have been nice since the B & W ones are faded. Interviews with overlooked cast members like Roy Dotrice (Father), and Jay Acavone (Joe). I would love to know how the Tunnel World set was built and how the cast felt about bundling up in winter clothing while filming in balmy Los Angeles and why every single day featured in the entire series was a cold one. I know the show was set in New York City but I assume it does get hot there in the summer.Instead, all we get for a 198 page book with a ridiculously high price is a few pages of interview with Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton, an episode guide with commentary from the producers, and a couple of faded black and white photos.
I am a B&B fan. I got the OTHER episode guide that was pushished YEARS ago. This one is a GOOD companion to it.
I know it's dated but I loved this show, and I still do. I love the innocence of it, the fact that even the kiss had to be in silhouette. How silly now. And at least the acting was good which still makes it watchable.

I love Beauty and the Beast. I dearly love Vincent and thank you Ron Perlman who brought him alive. I read Ron Perlman's book and what a nice man. Made me fall in love with him.
