I never went to college and don't plan on it but this book is still very helpful for entrepreneurs too or people who refuse to settle for an average life. Brandon teaches you how to maximize your potential by doing things like building your LinkedIn profile, making a website, and befriending influential people. By doing these things you will be way ahead of others. A lot of people can get good grades that look good on a resume but not everyone knows how to market themselves!
The topics covered in this book can seem daunting, but the author has found a way to make these topics approachable and relatable. I'm currently a college senior and I wish I would've had this book three years ago. Brandon covers a range of topics and gives his own person experience on how to tackle the "college rat race". The advice Brandon has and the stories he tells makes for a great read, filled with valuable lessons on how to be successful.
Brandon has such an amazing writing style -- it's conversational, easy-going, and exciting to read. I have read a few books in the self-help genre, and definitely find this one to be the most inspiring and easy to follow. I am a biology major with a pre-med emphasis, which proves that the concepts in this book are useful for just about anyone.After reading Leverage, I have modified my writing style and utilized some of the tactics in some areas that he covers in the book, and it has paid off. For example, within the past few months I have been applying for scholarships for my upcoming study abroad experience (another thing partly inspired by this book!), and have used some of Brandon’s tips to do so. I found out just yesterday that I received a scholarship for $500, and I can certainly attest part of that to the fact that I used Brandon's tip to start with an interesting hook in my essay.Though I am almost finished with college, I will certainly be using Brandon's advice as I move forward to rock the rest of my college experience, make better connections, and succeed in my career path. I can honestly say that the advice that Brandon provides in this book has changed the way I approached my college experience, and I am extremely grateful to have come across Brandon and his work.
I am so impressed with is book. Brandon pulls you in right at the beginning and keeps delivering great insight chapter after chapter. Although I graduated college years ago I have learn several things that can even help me today! This is one of those books that is worth reading a second time. Parents if you kids is wandering aimlessly around with no clue how to approach college or life this book is a must for them to read. I can't say enough great things about this book. I loved it!
