This is a general overview of how to set up Quickbooks. Great if your business is somewhat simple and you have an inventory. Being a service business myself, this was not helpful. I do not carry an inventory nor do I use payroll. Invoicing section is very generalized and doesn't explain how to set up what new line items like travel fuel, meals..etc.
As a trained accountant, I have always found Quickbooks more suitable for clients with little or no accounting knowledge, but I am now supposed to teach a course in Quickbooks so I decided to see if I could find some training for myself (I haven't used QB since the DOS days). It is clear by his writing that Mr. Nelson is not from Intuit marketing, so you get some good truth along with his in depth knowledge of the software.
This is a good resource for Quickbooks. I am still learning how to use this new Quickbooks as I have been using the 2003 program and this books helps me with the changes.
Organization fit with the way I wanted to learn. I could skip around for what I wanted to see.
Answers most all questions you have when you get stuck. Always used the dummies books.
Spends a lot of time on setting up the program. Found other books to be more helpful with day to day use of program.
Doesn't work for QuickBooks Online,which they basically make you buy.
So Daddy ask how to organise his finances? Get Quickbooks. He got it and said, can you do it? EEK.This little book saved my life. All you need to know and a hotline number for all the strange questions you might have in case math isn't your thing (like me).
