My two year old loves ducks! They are her favorite animal so needless to say, she loves this book! It's easy for her to remember the words and repeat them when we read the story together. It has also helped her some with potty training as it helps her understand the concept of the "potty chair" and the difference between "poop" and "pee". Overall it's a cute story when starting a toddler on the potty training journey.
Such an easy read and my daughter loves it. We had the Elmo potty book which is longer and has flaps, but she likes this one just as much. She love pointing out and saying “uh oh†when duck has accidents and gets really happy for him when he goes potty like a big duck. Definitely worth it to start getting littles interested in using the potty.
This book served it's purpose as a time spender while we waited for any action from our daughter as she learned to use the toilet. Very cute illustrations and the simple story is on theme with a duck having accidents and finding success on the potty.
We originally read this book at the library. My daughter loved it so much I purchased it for home.It's cute and we both love reading it. It would also work for either a boy or girl.
I LOVE several of the other books by this author in this series (Pony, Tiger) but this one has too negative of a feel to it. Might be more appropriate for an older child when the parent is fed up and means business about potty training but not appropriate for a little one first expressing interest in toilet training.
My son totally loves this book, he thinks it's hilarious. They do joke about missing the toilet and peeing on the floor, just FYI in case you want only serious potty learning material. (But maybe we are just too silly when we read it...) It begins with "no more diapers duck" and ends with him successfully peeing like a "big duck now". Cute story, we like it.
We loved Thumbs Up Brown Bear for trying to help our daughter stop sucking her thumb. This book doesn't really offer any sort of potty training help.
Any book that my kid loves and that I don't get sick of reading is good for me. Dahl does a great job on all of his books. This one is short and sweet. And my kid loves to see the rouge poop on one of the pages.
